RARE BLUES HARMONICA LP: GEORGE SMITH - Pick Your Choice on SHOE LABEL private
SHOE LABEL RECORDS PRESENTS . . . "PICK YOUR CHOICE" With George "Harmonica" Smith, Shoe Label SL-1001. Produced by George Smith & Bernie Pearl, recorded at McCoy Studio, Los Angeles. Three tracks by George Smith (Stockholm Swing, Misty, Bad Luck at My Door) and one each by Long Gone Miles (Trouble, Trouble), William Clarke and The Nightowls (52 Cards in a Deck), one-man band Blind Joe Hill (Don't Be Nobody's Fool), Doug McCloud [sic: Macleod] (Think I'll Go Out Drinkin'), and Evans Walker (Baby Please). Sidemen include Lloyd Glenn, Dennis Walker, Bernie Pearl, and J.D. Nicholson. Record is near mint to mint. Comes in a paste-on cover on a plain white jacket, VG+. (Back of jacket is blank; this album did not come with liner notes.)
LPs and 45s are graded M (mint), NM (near mint), VG+, VG (very good), VG-, G+, G (good), G-, F (fair), and P (poor). A VG+ record may have some visible scuffs and light scratches and plays well with little surface noise. Scratches on records graded VG, VG-, and below are deep enough to feel with your fingernail, or there may be scratches throughout that cause surface noise. On records in the G+, G and G- range the level of the music is still above the surface noise caused by scuffs and scratches. Surface noise is as loud as the music on records graded F and louder than the music on P records.
Jackets graded VG+ have only slight wear; jackets graded VG are more worn but still intact unless defects are noted. G jackets show definite damage and F and P jackets are probably falling apart. Splits, markings, cut corners, and other defects will be noted.
