Description
Rarely seen copy of Children's Singing Games as performed by the pupils of Redriff Primary School at the ninth Singing Games Festival held in June 1969.
The vinyl and labels are in excellent condition and sound is clear and bright.
The sleeve has some wear to opening and a stain on the back to bottom left corner (see photo) but no rips or tears.
Also included is a fascinating 16 page booklet ( originally costing an additional 7/6 !) of historical notes and instructions primarily for teachers who wished to keep these ancient games alive.
The songs and rhymes are grouped into Betrothal, Courtship and Marriage, Custom Games, Ritual Games, Funeral Games, Dance Games and Near Country Dances which together form a delightful and absorbing record of innocent times past.
