"COMMAND PERFORMANCE" RADIO SHOW TRANSCRIPTION DISCS RECORDED BY THE NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMPANY NBC ORTHACOUSTIC RADIO RECORDING. ONE COMPLETE APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTE RADIO PROGRAM ON THESE TWO 16 INCH, VINYL, 33 1/3 RPM DISCS. THESE DISCS WERE ISSUED TO RADIO STATIONS FOR BROADCAST ONLY AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, VERY RARE!
"Command Performance" Radio program #20 recorded June 30, 1942 starring Spencer Tracy, Groucho Marx, Barbara Stanwyck, Clarence Nash (as "Donald Duck"), Pinto Colvig (as "Pluto" and "Goofy"), Victor Borge, Pat Friday, Mary Lee, The King's Men, Louis Forbes & The Selznick Studio Orchestra, Paul Douglas (announcer)
Program includes a comedy skit with Groucho Marx & Barbara Stanwyck as husband and wife
Program includes a short appearance of three Walt Disney characters with Clarence Nash as "Donald Duck" and Pinto Colvig as "Goofy" and "Pluto". Spencer Tracy visits with the Disney characters and they have a message for Adolf Hitler, who Spencer Tracy refers to as "Adolf Schicklgruber". When Spencer Tracy asks them for their message to Hitler, they all make angry voices!
Program includes a punctuation skit by Victor Borge

Program was meant to be broadcast to servicemen overseas, Excellent World War Two Era nostalgic broadcast!
This is a rare example of an early episode of "Command Performance" which would be produced and broadcast throughout World War Two for servicemen overseas - also a rare example of Walt Disney characters being used to support the war effort in World War Two
Both of the discs are slightly bowed in the middle. I had to remove the mat from by turntable to play the discs, otherwise the discs are in Excellent condition with Excellent sound. The discs being slightly bowed did not effect their play on my turntable. There is damage on one of the labels which is visible in the scans
Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables. For $10 I can include a CD transfer of both discs for the buyer only
