MEM: Cinema & Music Memorabilia (www.vinylandfilmposters.co.uk)
A very RARE BEATLES realated Programme, this being a Programme for the "The Cavern presents Beat 'N' Blues Week For Oxfam", an event running through the week of Sept 7th 1964. This is a fascinating 16-page Prog with stacks of BEATLES interest. First, the event was held at the Beatles "home", the Cavern. Secondly, the Beatles are credited on the Cover & although they didn't perform at the event, The Beatles have endorsed the occasion with a 2-page Article, carrying a pic, message & 2 sets of facsimile autographs (they mention the great welcome home they recently received when they returned to Liverpoool for the Northern Premiere of "A Hard Days Night"). In addition, a sketch called "Cavernanza" is featured in which the Cast consisted of Ray Mcfall (Owner of the Cavern), Bob Wooler (Cavern DJ), Brian Epstein (Beatles Manager), Paddy Delaney (Cavern Head Bouncer) & Bill Harry (Editor of Mersey Beat). There are other Beatles references/ads in the Prog too.
Over the week, a host of Merseybeat & Northern Groupd competed in the competition inc The Escorts, Wayne Fontana, The Kubas, Hermans Hermits, The Clayton Squares, The Kobras, The Spectres, Kris Ryan etc. There is also a listing of forthcoming Sept-Oct Gigs at the Caveren inc the Alex Harvey Big Soul Band & The Yardbirds (inc Clapton in the line-up). The Prog has been folded but otherwise is in clean & complete & in VG condition. A really nice early piece of Beatles related Memorabilia. NB. OUR OTHER MUSIC RELATED AUCTIONS RUNNING CURRENTLY.
We have a huge array of other MUSIC & MOVIE memorabilia listed on our website (including more BEATLES/YARDBIRDS/CLAPTON/ALEX HARVEY/FONTANA/HERMANS HERMITS & related material), so please take a look. If you are after something not listed, please let us know & we'll see what we can find for you.
