Description
An early contract pressing by Island Records, pressed in relatively small numbers before Italian pressings were issued, it has orange labels but this one has a broader outer raised ridge as opposed to a narrow perimeter ridge shown on Discogs on one version, this one encompasses the Side 1 Stereo etc, the centre pressing ring is wider and deeper than other pressings, there is some roughness on side 2. No Quotation marks around Heroes on album title, and NO Dave’s R.C.A. Etched on run outs, some matrices scribed out and the etched replacements are PL 12522 A2 (although it looks like a continental 7), and B2, I-32, A2, ZW with Sterling stamped on side 1. PL 12522 B2 I-26 and A5 on side 2, also with Sterling stamped, also some initials that I can’t make out, the vinyl is NM with just a few light marks, plays well with a little noise on run and right at the start which soon subsides, nice lyric sheet and ring wear on semi-laminated sleeve, yellowed RCA inner, definitely one for Bowie completists as it’s it’s not yet photographed on Discogs
