Unquestionably one of David Bowie's finest albums. His very best in some circles, Concise, intelligent, diverse songwriting enveloped by irresistibly compelling musicianship led by the late great Mick Ronson whose superlative guitar work lent clearly defined distinction to Bowie's early albums--a distinguishing mark lost until a young guitar monster named Stevie Ray Vaughn took the helm for Bowie's masterful "Let's Dance" album.
Some of Bowie's finest songs are found in the Homo-Hollywood "Cracked Actor," the engine rumbling "Panic In Detroit," the Iggy Pop lustful homage "The Jean Genie," and the summer evening raucous of "Drive-In Saturday" among an album of pure genius.
