This is one of over 600 rare doo-wop, R&B and blues 45s that I will be selling.

The Dootone label turned out a lot of fabulous records in the '50s and this is one of the best of the best. The Calvanes' Don't Take Your Love is right up there with Earth Angel as the epitome of teen doo-wop ballads. Lead singer Herman Pruitt's voice is a devilish mixture of desire and innocence. The rest of the group holds up their end of the bargain with all the magical blending and weaving of voices you expect from the best groups. Truly a beautiful record.

CONDITION: The labels are very clean. Some minuscule pin-head-sized rips on side B label, along with a name written in ink . Side A label is just about spotless (see photos). The vinyl is also very clean. Some superficial scratching that doesn't seem to affect play. The record plays fine on my player.
