Description
This auction is for a RARE PRESTIGE RECORDS TEST PRESSING SET OF THE EDDIE 'LOCKJAW' DAVIS 2 LP RECORD SET titled, THE COOKBOOK (see pics). Originally recorded in 1958, this test pressing LP set was remastered and distributed on the PRESTIGE label and are dated January 31, 1974.
Note: Prestige Records was a jazz record label founded in 1949 by Bob Weinstock. The company recorded hundreds of albums by many of the leading jazz musicians of the day, sometimes issuing them under the names of several subsidiaries. The company was sold to Fantasy in 1971, which was later absorbed by Concord.

Condition: These test pressings grade near mint. There are no scratches. Vinyl looks like excellent. No worpage. Both played crisp and clear (minor pops and snaps/mostly quiet).
Please note that there are no covers (just sleeves). Being test pressings, they likely never had covers.
TEST PRESSINGS are typically made in very small quantities (10 or less) and are very rare.

*RETURNS: Seller is honest so returns should not be an issue. However, if there is an issue with an item purchased, seller will of coarse work to correct the problem.
