Description
The Original Ramblers play David Bee's composition "High Tension" and "Alabamy Snow" on HMV B4821. "High Tension" is a Eurojazz classic with an exciting, moderistic arrangement and fine alto, trumpet, and trombone solos. "Alabamy Snow" is the same tune recorded by Trumbauer's Mason-Dixon Orchestra, also with an advanced arrangement and some excellent bass sax work. You get to hear the peculiar lyrics too.
Eddy Meenk (tp, vcl); Gerard Spruyt (tb); Wim Poppink (as, vcl); Maurits Dreese (bassax, vcl); Theo Uden Masman (p, ldr, arr); Jac Pet (bj); Kees Kranenburg (d). Recorded in The Hague in 1929.
Some records are great for the time and place, but this record is great for any time or place.
This record is in E- condition and has some HMV grain. The music is loud and clear over some surface noise.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
