Beatles "HARD DAY'S NIGHT " Soundtrack LP Canada w/ Rare Early Mono BLUE United Artists Label c.1964. Only a handful of these BLUE Label pressings were issued and are extremely scarce. I have not found ANY recorded sales.
Piers Hemmingsen, a long time Canadian Beatles collector writes in his book, "The Beatles CANADIAN Discography (1962-1970) Part 2 - LP" - "For collectors, the "Blue Label" mono version is one of "the rarest and strangest" Beatles albums to be released in Canada during the sixties".
Piers also mentions, the Compo Company Ltd. pressed this LP at their Lachine, Quebec plant (opinions differ as some say it was the Cornwall plant) and demand was so great in the summer of 1964 that they used any labels they had in stock to get copies out the door. Most were printed in the usual Red labels. The rarest was the BLUE label, and the Black label is the next hardest to find.
The BLUE label was normally used for Warner Brothers mono LP's (eg Everly Brothers) and Colpix mono labels of the period (eg mono soundtrack LP for Lawrence of Arabia) in Canada.

LP VISUAL - Overall VG+/++ with numerous minor scuffs and light scratches LP AURAL - Overall VG++ LP LABELS - Overall VG+ COVER - VG with edge/surface wear, yellowing, some rear staining.
GRADING GUIDELINES - Grading records can be sometimes complicated as it's one person's opinion at that point in time. Grade too low, an excellent record goes for an unreasonably low price. Grade too high, a disappointed buyer. What's VG++ to one seller is VG to a buyer but if the seller is fair this spread is usually because the buyer is ULTRA FUSSY. These buyers I would rather not sell to as their demands on quality often are unreasonable for the price paid.
I use the term OVERALL and that is exactly what it means, It's an Overall visual and aural opinion of the LP without counting all the scuffs and light scratches if any that are present and not playing all tracks through. I have been selling records for many years and well before eBay so I have a pretty good idea what MOST buyers would agree as to the condition of the LP and Cover.
