Description
This is a very nice copy of this rare Jazz set from 1952. It is 'The Astaire Story', and is a Limited Edition and personally signed set from Fred Astaire. It is on Mercury Records, MGC-1001/4, and is a 4 LP Blue Vinyl set. On one of the beginning pages there is an introduction that states: OF THIS LIMITED EDITION OF THE ASTAIRE STORY THERE HAVE BEEN MAD ONE THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FOUR COPIES OF WHICH THIS COPY IS NUMBER 733, and the number is written and signed by Fred Astaire. The records are in very clean VG+ condition, and a couple of the sides have a few light scratches. The set also includes the David Stone Martin jazz sketch portfolio, of which the large color piece is personally signed by David Stone Martin, and there are 6 smaller sketches. The portfolio pieces have been stored carefully in their own jacket, and are in new type condition, with no tears or other damage. The front and back of the cover only show light wear, and have no tears, and very little edgewear. The spiral bound cover has cleanly seperated from the inside spine, and can easily be restored, and there is a small torn out piece on the inside front page. The rest of the piece is in very nice condition, and the pages are still nice and white. It has a number of photos from the session with all of the artists involved. I have collected records for over 15 years, and have had this piece for a number of years, and has been taken well care of. Buyer pays actual Priority Shipping costs, or 5.00 for Media Rate shipping.
