RARE RECORD BY A FRENCH FEMALE VIRTUOSO

Lucienne RADISSE (1899-1997), a cellist of good reputation and a singular personality, was highly appreciated by CASALS, who did say that she "(turns) her instrument into an almost heavenly lyre", and also by musical critics around the world, and has played a long time at the radio. She has recorded chamber with Jean DOYEN. She has been also an actress in movies, a pilot of planes and of race cars.
She plays here with her sister Nathalie RADISSE, a great concertist of the time, who has often played chamber with her husband the violinist Paul KAUL.
