Description:
Up for sale is a RARE slice of mid-60s garage rock: The Renegades – “She’s Your Find” / “Rain On The Table” on the Cambridge label (1966).
The Renegades were a regional midwestern garage band active in the mid-1960s, part of the raw teen-scene sound inspired by the British Invasion and American R&B. Their recordings on the small Cambridge label capture the DIY energy of the era — fuzz guitars, driving rhythms, and youthful vocals that made these 45s staples at local teen clubs and sock hops. Surviving copies are scarce and highly sought by collectors of garage/psych.
This copy comes directly from the private collection of a Detroit disc jockey who spun these tracks when they were new. You’ll notice telltale signs of DJ use, including light etching of “1966” on the label and tape remnants protecting areas that might otherwise wear — classic techniques DJs used to preserve their records. These marks of provenance add character and historical authenticity, connecting this disc to its days delivering fresh rock sounds to Detroit teenagers in real time.
Condition: Vinyl shows play wear consistent with age but plays through. Labels have tape residue and light writing, consistent with DJ handling. Sleeve not original, comes in plain white protective sleeve.
Don’t miss this chance to own a genuine piece of 1960s garage rock history with Detroit DJ provenance.
