Description
LION ZION "Reggae In America" Original 1976 L.P. on House Of Natty (US) Rare private press album recorded & mixed at the Black Ark by Lee 'Scratch' Perry & Freeway Recording Studio Oakland, California. Lion Zion was a fixture in the Bay Area Reggae scene of the 1970's and could often be seen cruising around town with a copy of this record taped to the frame of his bike! Some minor edge wear on the top & bottom spine and more pronounced edge wear on the side spin where some old masking tape was removed but the vinyl is in great shape with a very unmistakeable Black Ark sound. This is a very interesting record, a rare largely un-documented slice of Lee Perry/Black Ark history still unavailable on CD. Check the back cover pic for more info, features Barry Llewellyn & Earl Morgan from The Heptones on two tracks. As was the Lion's custom each copy was personally signed before being sold
