[LIMITED FIRST EDITION] Bolinas, CA: Yanagi, 1977. Single Sheet. Very Fine. A large broadside (17"x22") featuring the title poem by Ed Sanders, the legendary (and still active) figure in the literary, publishing & musical counterculture of 1960's NYC & well beyond.
Includes a reference to John Keats in the first line ("Keats is dead..."), & a Letterest-style illustration of a mashed-up version of Keats' poem "Ode to a Nightingale" in an outlined square to the right & below Sanders' poem.
One of the Yanagi IV Broadside Series, produced in 1977 in an edition of 300 numbered copies, edited by Louis Patler and Bill Barrett. Printed at the West Coast Print Center, Berkeley, California. This is hand-numbered copy No. 142/300. A rare Sanders collectible and must for all Fugs enthusiasts!
Very good condition with a trace of storage wear to left edge.(amz/etc)
Edward Sanders (born August 17, 1939) is an American poet, singer, social activist, environmentalist, author, publisher and longtime member of the band the Fugs. He has been called a bridge between the Beat and hippie generations. Sanders is considered to have been active and "present at the counterculture's creation."
