Description
Up for auction is Blue Note LP 4036: Lou Donaldson Sunny Side Up, with Bill Hardman on trumpet, Donaldson on also sax, Horace Parlan on piano, Sam Jones and Laymon Jackson on bass, and Al Harewood on drums. Recorded in 1960, this copy bears the West 63rd St. New York 23 address on the label, has the deep grooves, and includes the RVG and "ear" stamps in the dead wax.
Sleeve: EX, with some discoloration near the bottom of the back cover, a line of blue ink bearing the acquisition date of "January 1961" and one track timing written in. The front cover is M-, with no ringwear, no scratches, no seam splits, totally pristine.
Record: EX+, with minor scuffing on a few spots from being taken in and out of the sleeve. Plays without issue and sounds amazing.
I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records (Blue Note, Norgran, Impulse!, Columbia, Prestige, Fantasy, Riverside, etc.) from a collector and former radio DJ a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.
Thanks for looking.
