This is an extremely rare 45 RPM LP titled "The Bottom End" (M&K Records 1975). ------- This album was recorded strickly to demonstrate M&K speakers in general, and specifically "The Bottom End" subwoofer. Since it was never intended to be a commercial release; it was only pressed in VERY small quantities, much the same as the first Sheffield direct to disc album. The difference is that you could actully buy the first Sheffield album, but not this one, and so these are MUCH rarer. -------- It has a long jazz number on the first side with a short female vocal at the very end. The drum solos are nothing short of jaw dropping! Even though this was recorded direct to 2 track; it sounds more dynamic than most direct disc records, and leaves all other recordings in the dust! The second side is a pipe organ selection that, again, is amazing. The historic session was captured at the M&K Sound store (which doubled as a studio) by store owner Ken Kreisel "live" on a 2-track analog tape machine. Mastering engineer was Allen Zentz, whose initials (AZ) are inscribed on the vinyl. (I mention this, because this famous 45RPM LP has been bootlegged overseas, and those copies do not have the “M&K” and “Az” inscribed in the deadwax.)

A world-class recording, that Ken intended to use to demonstrate how clear and deep his speakers reproduced bass, thus “the bottom end” name.

An extraordinary musical effort by one of the early audiophile manufacturers here in the States.

The jacket and record are both in excellent condition.

I prefer to combine shipping to save costs. Generally in the U.S. each additional record adds about $.60 to the shipping charge. On international shipments, each additional record generally adds about $4 to the shipping charge. All shipping will be quoted at the end of the listing(s). Records are shipped in heavy cardboard mailers designed specifically for LP's with bubble wrap or cardboard inserts for protection.

If you feel that my description of the record is inaccurate in some respect, you can return the record for a refund of the full purchase price (less shipping).
