Description
An original 12 page mail order catalog from 1978 by the premier supplier of Quadraphonic 4-Channel records and tapes in the 1970's
Also contains two inserts for special sale items "Quad Close Out Sale" and "Columbia Converta-Quad blank Q8 cartridges"
This rare catalog, in great condition, was one of the last ones issued by Sound Concepts of Peoria, Illinois. Sound Concepts opened in late 1973 and became the leading US mail order outlet for one stop buying of Quad software. They generally issued two catalogs a year, and those catalogs are extremely rare and hard to find today. I have kept these two copies as spares since receiving them back in 1978. The catalog contains a listing of all dual inventory Quad software (LP, Q4 and Q8) that was available in 1978. The catalog gives complete song listings for every title, along with the catalog number to aid in making your want lists. The two special sale inserts are fun to read, makes one wish for a time travel machine to go back and buy some of those closeouts at those great low prices. I could kick myself for not buying a few titles listed, since I'm still looking for them 30 years later!!
Measures 6¾ wide x 8½ inches high in size.
I am the original owner of these catalogs, they are not flea market merchandise. They have been properly stored and are in like new condition. The booklets lie flat, with no marks, rips or tears. I obtained these booklets back in the 1970's and would now like to share my extra copies with fellow collectors.
Please note: you are purchasing from a veteran 4-Channel Quad collector. The industry never was able to agree even on the term for Quad, they used Quadraphonic, Quadrophonic, Quadrasonic, Quadriphonic, Quadro, and others. I am well versed on all formats of Quad (CD-4 [quadradisc], SQ, QS, UD-4, RM, Q8, Q4). I am selling some of the spares from my collection, and listing them on eBay. Please look at my other listings for more rare and unusual Quad items for sale. If you have a question about this listing, or any other Quad topic, please contact me.
