Description

Artist: Memphis Minnie and Son Joe. Record label: COLUMBIA Records, recorded in 1944. Song titles: A side: PLEASE SET A DATE (matrix # 4304); B side: TRUE LOVE (matrix # 4307). Grade: Labels: E+...pristine; shellac: E with minor rub marks, but very, very clean; sound: E with expected surface noise, but what an incredible sound! Comments: This is a very, very clean 78 with pristine labels and very clear sound...awesome tunes! You can hear both tunes on youtube.com. I will surely package this rare gem very well so that it arrives to its destination safely.

On Apr-23-11 at 11:24:19 PDT, seller added the following information:

A collector of blues 78's from the UK requested that I add close-up images of the labels, which include the matrix numbers. Please have a look at the close-up images of the labels. The collector also asked me to compare the weight of this 78 to the other 78's that I currently have listed to see if this 78 weighs more, and this Columbia 78 DOES in fact weigh more than the others. I am not a collector of 78 RPM records, but the weight of this rare 78 must be an important factor for serious collectors of such.
