PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. In 1983, four Youngstown, Ohio area musicians joined to form a band to record a few songs in a basement to a 4-Track. In less than one year, they were in a 24-Track studio recording their self-titled full length LP. The 70's progressive and heavy rock influenced HARUM SCARUM's music style. From the progressive "On The Run", to the Zeppelin-ish "LiZ" to the Floyd-like "Rounded Wall", the pumping jams of guitar, bass and drums are evidence of this era. The album was a concept album focusing on the Grey-haired Man. A man who was part of a community striving for good amongst all the evil in the land and eventually led by a mob to his final doom...Known as the original HARUM SCARUM, they had a limited number of albums pressed independently on their own Teridackle Records and distributed them to music stores throughout Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Youngstown. Now very rare and highly collectable, the music featuring the mysteries the Grey-haired Man are one that many collectors have never dreamed of.
Musically HARUM SCARUM does not sound anything like the what the album cover presents. In reality ...what they were doing was much more interesting ..and sounded more like the mid 70's sound of Truth And Janey, Sorcery, Thunderpussy. So while the front jacket looks "heavy Metal" ...the music is actually 70s hard rock with some very nice progressive moves and at times even a a touch of psychedelic.
