Description
This is *New* Old Stock from my former record store. It has never been played. The discs have been removed from their respective sleeves once, just moments ago so that I could photograph disc 1 and visually inspect the other 3. Discs 1 & 2 show a few light surface-only paper sleeve scuffs.
The jacket is best described as a hard back book cover, ridiculously sturdy and literally bolted together. Released in 1995 by X-Mist/Amplified Recordings (Los Angeles, USA). It is NM- only because there is a small portion of adhesive on the back cover from a removed price sticker (again, from my record store). There is NO ring wear, dings, or splits ANYWHERE.
This thing sat on the shelf or in a box for years. I originally ordered 5 copies; they all sold but this one. I, and you, may never see another. I have no idea how many of this box set were pressed. I am certain that there was only one pressing, and that was 14 years ago.
The pages and inner sleeves are super thick, and there are ample color photographs, including one of each group member. There's more info and scans of the interior (not mine) here:

A good review from Ira at Trouser Press:
The X-Mas release (aka Tora Tora Tora) is a spectacularly packaged hard-cover album containing four 7-inches; if a collection of vinyl 45s is the worst imaginable format for a live record by a group prone to elongated workouts and a technology-challenging dynamic range, the use of maddening lock grooves brings the whole concept in line with the band's genial perversity and makes this an artistic coup of some sort. Recorded on the Melvins' '95 Tora Tora Tour and sprinkled with such comical offbeatitude as radio ads and call-in shows, official arena announcements and loopy stage patter, Live is an essential condiment to the band's more substantial (if predictably uneven) main courses.
[Ira Robbins]Please see my other listings for more post-punk vinyl, much of it original pressings. I have been an avid collector since 1970, a record store owner/employee for 2 decades, and a vinyl seller on eBay for ten years.
I will continually be listing rare Post Punk, indie, 80's-90's US underground, KBD, and punk rock.
You will NOT find any weak, B.S. releases in my vinyl listings anywhere. Just the usual kick-arse 70's punk, eighties sleaze, 90's garage gems ...
