Description
I have a record here that to be honest with you I know very little about, nor could I find much about it in the usual places, but it is a cool record. It is Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs Doing College Girl bw Say Yeah on the Selwyn Label. Release # Selwyn 5121. The vinyl is in VG++ to Near M- codition with no real marks to distract from it. Most of the gloss is present and the record plays fine. The labels are more VG+ as both sides have marks on them. Both songs show Williams and another person as the writers, and on both sides, the other writer is marked through with a pen each side also has a name written on it. The paper label is flat instead of glossy, so there is a small amount of soiling, still the labels are still decent and the record over all would in my opinion rate VG++. I couldn't find anything about Selwyn Label, but it says Selwyn Records Inc. Charlotte N.C. USA. Write me if any other questions. I just found a link that is a short article on the Gadiola's, which is what the Zodiacs evolved into. It explains that the Selwyn label was one of five local labels that Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs recorded for after losing their contract with Excello records, and before their contract with Hearold. I will add each additional record for 50 cents each, so if you have 4 records mailed at once, your total cost would be $$5.50, or $4.00 and 3x50 cents for the $5.50 total.Anybody who buys $75.00 worth of records at one time , I will pay your postage and insurance for you. This special is for the United States only as the postage price structure outside this country is very different, however those that buy multiple records at one time will receive a discount on postage from me.
