RARE:
Andre Navarra –
CELLO COLOURS –
Capitol P18023 Original Green Label
This release is featured in Capitol’s Outstanding International Recordings Series.
Cellist Andre Navarra takes on music by French composers on side 1, in Faure ELEGIE, PAPILLON, APRES UN REVE, and SERENADE, plus Ravel PIECE EN FORME and DE HABANERA.
Side 2 takes on the technical virtuosity of the instrument, in Mendelssohn SONG WITHOUT WORDS, Dvorak RONDO (in G Minor), Tchaikovsky PEZZO CAPRICCIOSO, Rossini-Paganini THEME AND VARIATIONS, and Francoeur LARGO and ALLEGRO VIVO.
A brilliant musical journey, here in a cover without major fault; heavy platter inside – the original – should play near mint.
For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.
Shipping and handling is $4 for a single LP shipped within the States; $1 for each additional LP. Internationally, $19.60 via airmail for the first LP, $4 each thereafter. (Canada is $13.50; $3 each additional.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
