I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to get somewhat conservative in my approach. From my personal collection, you are bidding for a beautiful, original 1961 pressing of the Marcels on the Colpix (Gold Label) CP416. The dead wax area reads CP416A and CP416B on the flip side. Valued at $350 NM in Goldmine, the thick, glossy album cover is stunning. No seam splits, tape, ringwear, scuff marks or writing. The liner notes in back are like new and the greyscale picture of the group, Ronald Mundy, Fred Johnson. Richard Knauss, Gene Bricker and Cornelius Harp is near mint. Stu Phillips, Music Director of Colpix is shown in the lower left. There is a small inspection stamp and a lite slim tear in back when the cover was glued at the factory.

The colorful gold labels are in near mint condition with no needle marks evident. The rich, glossy record has been well cared for. some lite line marks show from very minor wear. When played, there were no pops, skips or loud hisses, just a great listening experience of one of the early groups of the R&B and Doo-Wop era. Side 1 Blue Moon, Goodbye To Love, Sweet Was The Wine, Peace Of Mind, A Fallen Tear, Over The Rainbow. Side 2, I'LL Be Forever Loving You, Two People In The World, Most Of All, Teeter Totter Love, Sunday Kind Of Love, Crazy Bells. Due to the care, quality and listening experience, the album cover is graded NM- and the record a very strong VG++. This is a winner and there is no reserve.
