Description

This is an original copy of the rare American private press psych lp “Latitudes 1973-74” (Stereo). Released in 1974 as a compilation of Montgomery County Community College (Blue Bell, PA) bands and solo artists, this is a great mix of psych and folk rock/psych. Similar to the excellent “Collage ‘75”, “Perspective” or “808 Ridge” college project psych lps that have been making noise with collectors as of late, but I feel this is among the strongest of the bunch. You get wild west coast style garage psych from Puddleduk, excellent guitar psych from Tubular Chamber Ensemble, electric folk rock/psych from an unnamed band, stoned hippy/Dead folkrock from a band called “Y”, nice trad folk from the Amber Ramblers, cool folk psych from Shack People, a brief jazz piece, then a great closing electric/acoustic folk psych track from Amber Ramblers with ocean sounds and sublime guitar leads. I own this lp and it is really a great late night fave, the mix of electric and acoustic folk with wilder psych elements almost gives the lp a US twist on a UK Holyground label sound…. Even the cover has the same lost in time rural magick look and feel. Glad to have a spare copy for a lucky head. Cool silk screen psych cover with large red Chinese lettering is VG+ with the letter “m” in black with a circle around it written on a tiny ½” area on the lower right-hand corner. Disc is strong strong VG+, a few light scuffs and marks but still plays extremely well. Great score for psych collectors. It really is top shelf stuff for this sub-genre. Winner pays $5.00 for 1st Class/Priority Mail or $3.00 for book rate. Overseas bidders are welcome. I accept payment through PayPal, including credit cards. . Money orders and personal checks (must clear) are also accepted as payment.
