RARE PVT WI ROCK LP~RON LARSON 1971~CUCA~AGE OF AQUARIUS LABEL~GREEN BAY PACKERS
Product Description
I acquired the record collection of the man who managed WSTR radio station in Sturgis Michigan for about 40 years. The albums I'm listing come from his personal collection which I procured from his wife. They range from the 50's to 70's and most are radio station promotional issues and or rare stock copies in phenomenal condition. Over the next several weeks I will be listing these rare and often impossible to find pressings for my customers to bid on and enjoy. There will be lots of jazz, pop, classical, rock and roll, soul, and more. Please save us to your favorites and come back often as we will be listing new items regularly. Don't miss out.
I called Jim Kirchstein who created and owned the Wisconsin "CUCA" record label from 1959-1973.
CUCA records has a subsidiary label "Age of Aquarius" mainly for a band called "The Corporation" [Active: 1968-1970][Milwaukee](Ken Berdoll, John Kondos, Nick Kondos, Pat McCarthy, Danny Peil, Gerry Smith) which was a psychedelic rock band back in that era.
This album was a very limited custom pressing that was done in 1971 on the Age of Aquarius label by Ron Larson, who had a rock band that played in the "Left Guard Supper Club" chain of night clubs owned by Fred "Fuzzy Thurston" #63 famous guard for the Green Bay Packers and Max McGee #85 famous receiver for the Green Bay Packers.
Mr. Kirchstein, who is listed on the reverse cover of this LP as an audio engineer had some insight for me. Saying that he felt that this was a very limited custom pressing. If you look closely at the photos you will see a logo a "LEFT GUARD" logo, with a Green Bay Packers helmet, a football on a shield, a banner that says "Left Guard" and the numbers 63 and 85. The same jersey numbers as the players/owners mentioned above.
Teamates Max McGee & Fred Thurston entered into a restaurant/supper club/night club partnership; they operated the Left Guard Charcoal Houses in Appleton, Fond du Lac, Madison, Green Bay, and Eau Claire. They also operated the Left Guard Steak Houses in Menasha, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis–St. Paul. And they operated the Left End Steak House in Manitowoc.
Without a doubt a very rare, impossible to find artifact which touches on a number of different collecting levels, Psychedelia, The Beatles, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Green Bay Packer Backer Memorabilia and More!
Good luck finding another of these again anywhere else. We couldn't. You won't either.
