Auction is for a rare test pressing by Professor Longhair who was born Henry Roeland Byrd. My research leads me to believe that it was recorded at Deep South Recorders, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in September, 1971. The rediscovered tapes of Longhair’s ‘lost’ 1971 sessions yielded some of the best recordings of his career. It appears on the Rounder Records release from 1987  "House Party New Orleans Style (The Lost Sessions 1971-1972)"  Catalog #2057.  The songs were recorded in 1971 and 1972 and they were stored in the vaults of Bearsville Records before being released in 1987. Professor Longhair (piano/vocals) is featured with Snooks Eagin (guitar), Will Harvey, Jr./George Davis (bass) and Shiba/Jospeh "Zigaboo" Modeliste (drums). Not all players appear on all tracks. The album won a Grammy Award, in the "Best Traditional Blues Recording" category in 1987.
"She Walks Right In" was originally released as a 78 rpm single as the B-Side to "Mardi Gras In New Orleans"  in February 1950 by Atlantic Records (Catalog #897) credited to Professor Longhair and His New Orleans Boys. Recorded November 1949 in New Orleans and produced by Ahmet Ertugun and Herb Abramson, Billboard Magazine, February 11, 1950, "Record Reviews," said that "She Walks Right In" was a  "Hypnotic, medium tempo boogie blues that swings a storm." 
With "She Walks Right In," Professor Longhair only cut this song for one label at the time, Atlantic. It actually was a cover record of his fellow New Orleans-based Star Talent signee, Cha Cha Hogan – who did it as "My Walking Baby."  The Professor cut two very different takes of the song while at his Atlantic session… one of which, the single, has taken a back seat to the alternate cut which has adorned greatest hits albums ever since.

• Vinyl Condition: Record was play graded and plays excellent with clear sharp sounding quality. The vinyl itself has no scuffs or spindle marks, although it does have some spotting which did not appear to affect play; two distinct ticks were heard which could possibly be due to the recording process itself. I would probably grade the record as Excellent since there were no other noise disturbances and it played so clean.
• Notes: Boiling blues and trademark African-Latin and boogie-woogie riffs were the menu when Professor Longhair brought his Crescent City music show to Baton Rouge and Memphis in 1971 and 1972, respectively. The 15 numbers on House Party New Orleans Style matched the great pianist with an esteemed array of musicians who included outstanding guitarist Snooks Eaglin on both sessions, and fine rhythm sections as well. Eaglin's flashy, inventive solos were excellent contrasts to Longhair's rippling keyboard flurries and distinctive mix of yodels, yells, cries and shouts. (AllMusic)

GRADING STANDARDS: (M) Mint: Record and cover appear absolutely perfect in every way.  Grade is seldom used, even with sealed albums where the record itself can only be assumed to be mint.
(NM) Near Mint: Vinyl is shiny with no obvious signs of wear and plays perfectly with no audible imperfections. Cover is close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident. 
(EX or VG++) Excellent /Very Good ++: Record or jacket has a minimum of audible or visual imperfections. Vinyl has been handled and played very carefully. Light paper scuffs and/or spindle marks may be visible with no appreciable lessening in sound quality. Covers show very minor signs of handling and wear. 
(VG+) Very Good Plus: Record displays light scuffs, spindle marks or very light scratches that may create some noise disturbances, but don't affect one's overall listening experience. Jacket begins to show more prominent signs of storage wear and aging.
(VG) Very Good: Defects are more pronounced with visible signs of handling and playing. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially during soft passages and a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, although none of the flaws should be overwhelming. 
(G) Good / (G+)Good Plus: Vinyl will have scratches and visible groove wear. Record plays without skipping, although noticeable surface noise or ticks will be heard. Jackets have even more pronounced defects such as seam splits, tape, writing, ring wear, water damage or other defects.
