We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SCARCE 1973 "QUADRAPHONIC" with different song mixes from the 'regular' known 1973 release...

Includes the original printed SQ inner sleeve with the collectors guide to quadraphonic sound overview for consumer understanding...

The 1973 Quadraphonic original issue uses a then, specially designed SQ decoder permiting the a 4 channel sound separation (as opposed to the regular 2 channel) when playback is through the quad system or even surround sound receiver, resulting in completely different song mixes that can be detected even on the 'normal' stereo system. The record company changed around the song mixes (sounding like things were added) to enhance the quadraphonic 4-channel listening experience....

Hear the alternate song mixings of: OVER-NITE SENSATION by THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION featuring Frank Zappa at his finest! Every song is catchy and still manages to be weird in only the way Frank Zappa can write music. Every guitar solo by Frank seems absolutley perfect within the context of the songs. Even though this is probably Zappa's most conventional album, it's still one of his best.

Zappa is well-known for his eccentricity, but Over-nite consists of mostly rock ‘n’ roll with the obligatory FZ spin on things.

The opening “Camarillo Brillo” has always been a fan favorite Zappa tune. The drums have a great feel to them and the same applies to the guitar, which has fills that are delightfully bluesy. The piano plinks along nicely. Zappa’s lyrics are wildly inventive. “We did it till we were unconcho and it was useless anymore.” “I’m the Slime” is Zappa’s take on television. FZ is in top-form on his guitar, delivering a searing solo in the beginning. But it’s his vocals and his lyrics that make this truly a great song. The next song, “Dirty Love”, has a perfect, sleazy feeling. Zappa uses the same close-miced technique on his voice that he used on “I’m The Slime”, which gives everything he sings a great sound.

“Fifty-Fifty” is where things start to get wild and truly amazing. Ricky Lancelotti goes wild on the vocals and the musicians do the same; the music is funky and all over the place. Ralph Humphrey on drums is particularly excellent. “Zomby Woof” is even better. It’s like the quintessential Zappa song, with almost everything that there is to love about him being rolled into one song. He shreds on the guitar. The intro is incredibly catchy and the musicians and their instruments all mold together perfectly. It’s such an excellent song. “Dinah-Moe-Humm” finds Zappa at his most sexual and maybe his funkiest, too. In the beginning, it slinks along. We learn from Zappa’s singing that our titular character is betting Zappa $40 that he can’t make her cum. It gets downright sleazy in the middle, but not at all in a gross way. It’s actually a bit funny, with some classic lines. Over-Nite Sensation concludes with “Montana”, which is yet another perfect song. It’s a bit wacky, but who cares? The drums roll along perfectly, the horn section is great as always and Frank’s solo will blow you away yet again.

And that’s the thing about Over-nite Sensation. All the people who dislike FZ say Frank and his Mothers are nothing but a comedy band. But then you listen to Over-nite Sensation. The lyrics might be at their wackiest or their crudest, but you shouldn’t care. The band is absolutely stunning. The horn section is incredible. Ralph Humphrey on drums is simply spectacular. And of course, no one plays guitar better than the man himself, Frank Zappa. We can see why SOME people don’t like this album. But if you can’t get past the subject matter and appreciate the music for what it truly is...then you've lost one....

The vinyl: Clean glossy all over, "EX" (excellent) only inner sleeve paper rub is visible which is nothing, so plays excellent with no audio problems...CLEAN Disceet QUAD labels...
