Description

RARE 1962 R&B FUNK SOUL 45~ MARY "B" ~ SOMETHING FOR YOU, BABY / SINCE I FELL FOR YOU
This is an original U.S.  issue.  ~ Mary Banks ~   Offered to you in the Vinyl Visual grade of: GOOD / VERY GOOD-   Hear it on youtube!
Rhythm & blues with a whole lot of soul is what we get from Mary “B” on this 1962 scorcher. Something For You, Baby was written by Mary Banks, whose life details seem to have somewhat faded into obscurity.  It was released on Fling Records, a label run by Bobby Robinson who also ran Fire, Fury, Enjoy and others. Banks released one more record for Robinson on Enjoy, but that’s about all I can find out about her.  What a voice though, just listen, and great Marshall Sehorn production too
This rare original copy is part of an amazing treasure discovered stashed away in a house in the Philadelphia area. The owner was an avid collector & part of a syndicated Philly radio program in the 1960s & 70s, acquiring copies of many now extremely hard to find 45s & LPs. Many of these records have not seen the light of day since then! Be sure to check back often as we will be listing titles regularly.... This is a great find and a gem for your collection.

Bid with confidence!  Thank you for visiting our new site featuring some of the coolest rarest records- Mod, 50's, 60's, 70's, Northern Soul, Surf, Garage, Progressive, Psych, Rock, Boogaloo, Funk, R&B, Doo Wop, rare Jazz & Blues... many unopened & unplayed!
