JIMMY KELLY & ROCK-A-BEATS - COBRA 5028 - LITTLE CHICKIE / BONNIE
CONDITION: SIDE A Nice VG Still has a decent amount of luster. Record shows moderate groove wear, and some light hairlines. It is a very strong player and still looks good.
SIDE B VG+ Has more gloss, and less groove wear than Side A.
“LITTLE CHICKIE” is a solid Chicago Rockabilly. “BONNIE” is a teen ballad.
This record just sold on eBay yesterday for $214.50. If you missed that one, here is an unlikely second chance at a very scarce record.
Chicago is not known for tough Rockabilly 45s, but here is one fine example. Cobra records, along with subsidiary labels Artistic and Abco was owned by Eli Toscano who was famously buried in Lake Michigan. It specialized in blues, rhythm & blues and doowop. Somehow this RAB got in!
Just for fun, let’s make this JIMMY KELLY WEEK. Also listed is another of JIMMY KELLY’S records on a JIFFY 78 “3 D BOOGIE”. What’s the likelihood of that?
