Description

Here is a near mint copy - only played a few times after puchased in the 70's - of Robert Crumb and His Keep-On-Truckin' Orchestra. It dates from 1972, and appears to be a First Pressing. (A recent offering of this same record had the words "Second Pressing, April 1973" on the sleeve, this copy does not). This is Robert Crumb's very first recording.

The sleeve states "Ordinary 78rpm Record A High Standard of Standardness Made by Krupp Comic Works Milwaukee". The record label, side A, has "River Blues", String Band with Singing; side B is "Wisconsin Wiggles", String Band with Musical Saw. Both the record label and the sleeve were designed by Crumb.

There is a very slight 1 1/2 inch scratch (though "scratch" seems like too strong a word) running at an angle across the first inch of Side A. I listened to the record and was unable to detect any problem. The sleeve only shows the slightest signs of any wear.

This is probably a rare record, particularly as a First Pressing. According to other web sources there were only 5000 of these First Pressings issued.

I was unable to find any copies of this First Pressing; however, 2nd Pressings are available from $85 to $100.
