PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE and highly sought after ...Original 1969 first pressing of a killer HEAVY PSYCH UNDERGROUND Lp with prog edges... this is a big sound, rapidly wanted by collectors all over the universe.
This Tallahassee, Florida based obscurity came as a pleasant surprise to most all who dropped the needle on this platter. AFTER ALL is dark and moody, often powerful, hard & heavy with a decidedly cool DOORS vibe...The first side features two extended pieces. Both ‘Intangible She’ and ‘Nothing Left To Do’ featuring attractive melodies and strange ominous atmospherics… One can picture these guys recording in some haunted Southern mansion. Picture ‘Riders On the Storm’ and deep heavy vocals, with a full rich backing of meaty guitar jabs and gushing organ.
The four members of the AFTER ALL combo were actually friends and acquaintances in different bands on the Tallahassee, FL, rock circuit before culling their skills together, along with lyrical assistance from young local poet and songwriter Linda Hargrove, when an opportunity to record an album in a Nashville studio presented itself. The resulting piece of work is the type of strangely compelling hybrid album that could only have come together in the musical gumbo of the post-psychedelic era. Drummer and primary vocalist Mark Ellerbee wrote most of the music, and his songs are basically freeform, open-ended tone poems that eschew typical verse-chorus and melodic considerations (although the odd melodic hook or harmony surfaces from time to time) for music that is much more amorphous and improvisational. There are elements of rock, R&B, blues, progressive, classical, avant-garde composition, and, to an even greater degree, jazzy weavings through the music, while a thick hallucinatory cloud hovers over the whole of the album, giving it an oddly surreal and even ghostly demeanor. It is a complex and ambitious mix that doesn't always come off seamlessly, but is by and large an engaging amalgam, exploring similar territory to that being investigated during the period by much higher profile bands of the '60s era.

CONDITION: The Cover: Having onlt a delete drill at left side, the cover grafics are strong, solid all over. it's a CLEAN, rated: "EX" (excellent) front cover and M- back (group photo) cover ...altogether looks fine as a collection keeper with no upgrade necessary...no split seams, no bends, no writing...
The Vinyl: rated visually: near "EX" (excellent) ...all still glossy, appearance is clean for the lo-fi Athena pressing with only but a few minor (soft) top surface visual hairline scuffs ...played very well here, enjoyable ... both Athena labels are clean
