ORIGINAL 1969 first pressing in thick gatefold cover...it's fantastic, this copy, even IF seen of found it's in lesser condition...

This is a latter day version of Bo Grumpus who were part of the "Bosstown Sound". After the brief “heyday” of the Bosstown Sound, several of the surviving bands took a turn into hard edged rock and album oriented rock (AOR). Jolliver Arkansaw, Eagle, and the Apple Pie Motherhood Band are all in this catagory. Of the three, the best is Jolliver Arkansaw, who brings sufficient finesse and texture to the form to stand out from the hundreds of bands who cranked out AOR in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Jolliver Arkansaw probably benefitted greatly from their assiciation with Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi. Several songs on the album sound similar to the work of West and Pappalardi’s later aggregation, Mountain. At the suggestion of Eddie Mottau, the group changed its name to Jolliver Arkansaw. from Bo Grumpus (who issued one collectible album)... Jolliver Arkansaw went into the studio early in 1969 to record. On one of the tracks, Gray Afternoon, they were joined by MOUNTAIN guitarist Leslie West. The solo that Leslie played on this track convinced Felix to start a band with him. That band became known as Mountain. Jolliver Arkansaw’s LP, titled Home, was issued on Bell in 1969. Gray Afternoon has been included in a psych compilation record, called "Sound Stories".
