Description

"Corona High School Invitational Jazz Festival 1970" - Custom Fidelity Records CFS-2152-2. Very rare 1970 private pressing 2LP set in outstanding NM condition! Only available to the festival participants, this album was never available commercially. From the 3rd Annual Corona Senior High Invitational Jazz Ensemble Festival, in Corona, CA. Adjudicators were Stan Kenton, Don Erjavec (from the Collegiate Neophonic), Herb Roesener, Bob MacDonald, and Jack Mason. Stan Kenton plays "Interlude" with the Corona High Jazz Ensemble. Also involved was John Prince (previously writer for Collegiate Neophonic, then director of Excellsior High School, later did great work at Cal State Long Beach). Titles: Doin' The Monkee's Monkey, Fifteen Four, Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen, Jazz A Nova, Neophonic Funk, Quebec City, MacArthur Park, Shadow Of Your Smile (soloist Terry Federoff), Big Sur Echo, Somewhere, Exodus, Shasta, Maria, Fanfare, MacArthur Park, Pilgrimage, Interlude, and Dance.
