Description

This is "99th FLOOR" b/w "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO" by THE
MOVING SIDEWALKS, a Texas Psychedelic Blues-Rock band formed
in the mid-60s by Billy Gibbons (later of ZZ TOP). It was made on the
WAND RECORDS label WND 1156, 1966, and was their first single. It
was a hit and reached #1 on the Houston charts, staying there for six
weeks. The band consisted of Billy Gibbons (guitar), Tom Moore (key-
boards),  Don Summers (bass), and Dan Mitchell (drums). They opened
many tour shows for acts such as The Doors, Jimi Hendricks, and the
Thirteenth Floor Elevators, whose show was stopped by Houston police
to arrest singer Roky Erickson. When Moore and Summers were drafted
into the US Army, Lanier Greig joined the group and they became the
original ZZ Top.
This single was the first release by THE MOVING SIDEWALKS and both
sides were written by Billy Gibbons. It looks, plays, and sounds great,
although there is very light label wear and a very few light surface scuffs
on Side 2, which have no effect on play or sound.
