There's been a few CD sets that have come up on eBay recently, one of which sold for $199.99 within a few hours.  The records were even more rare and I do not see any in sales history.  Here's your chance to own one!
Insurance for full purchase price will be included at no additional charge.  Ships in recycled (but good condition) LP mailer with protection.
Vinyl: VG+/EX Vinyl looks fantastic.  I can't personally find a single scratch but chances are under extremely bright light someone could, thus please assume there will be a few light surface scratches that will not effect play.  It appears someone may have attempted to wipe these off and left some water residue on some of the discs.  These are not scratches and a quick cleaning should make them look brand new.  They look fantastic already and I wouldn't hesitate to add these to my collection as-is.  Please note that side eight has a white mark on the vinyl at the very edge (as seen in photos).  It seems to be paper stuck to it but I tried to scrape it off very lightly but it would not come off with the little force I gave it.  Rather than possibly damage the vinyl, I left it alone.  It play tests fine with a few very light pops in the soft portions of the song (You're So Vain). Labels look great!
Sleeve - VG+/EX Sleeve looks fantastic for the most part.  Vinyl was stored outside of jacket in plastic sleeve to prevent ringwear.  While no ringwear formed, it caused the thick sleeve to compress somewhat.  2-3 inch separation of sleeve on top right that can easily be fixed with a bit of Elmer's glue.  Some mild creasing and edge and corner wear.  I have done my best to document everything in the photos but please feel free to request more if there's anything in particular you're interested in.

Review:

Time Life released this as a TV product test market Prototype in 1990. It was the first effort under the "Singers & Songwriters" banner which led to an entire series of such CDs [and vinyl records]. This two-disc [4xLP], forty-track collection, like all Time Life anthologies, is carefully assembled, and features a mix of pop songwriters doing their own material and top singers interpreting songs by others. With writers ranging from Paul Simon ("Mother and Child Reunion," "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover") to Donovan ("Catch the Wind") and Rod Stewart (not necessarily known for his songwriting, Stewart's own and fine "Maggie May" is included here) and singers as elegant and smooth as Linda Rondstadt(with a beautiful version of Roy Orbison's "Blue Bayou"), Judy Collins and Harry Nilsson (a gifted songwriter in his own right, Nilsson is represented here with his flowing cover of Fred Neil's "Everybody's Talkin'"), Singers & Songwriters has a measured and mellow feel perfect for a Sunday afternoon drive. The quality is excellent as always with Time-Life projects. It's a great sample of the best of the 70's singer/songwriter era.
