RARE The Tragically Hip Trouble at the Henhouse LP

This has been described as the RAREST of Tragically Hip vinyl. Of all my online searching, I have only found four copies sold, all on eBay, and is absent from general record sites. "Trouble at the Henhouse" was released at a time when the major labels had all but abandoned vinyl, and as such was one of the few releases on vinyl in select stores at the time... This was the reason why I bought it. However, after barely two plays, it was filed and stored in a cool, dark, dry and clean location with shrink-wrap loosely on it. (The shrink-wrap has been slipped off to show actual sleeve condition.) This is most likely the cleanest open copy you'll find of the album, and it is doubtful sealed copies would be much cleaner.

The LP plays beautifully and sounds analog (I am a strong analog audiophile). Graded visually, it is Mint Minus M- / VG+++++, with the only scuffs visible are either "foggy" blemishes from the factory (similar to someone breathing lightly on a cold window pane) or slight hairline scuffs from slipping in and out of the inner sleeve... And you need to hold the vinyl to the light to see these. Upon listening, most of the vinyl is at least M-, with only the take-in grooves and first minute of each side being at least VG+++... which is normal on non-audiophile releases. I have avoided cleaning it on my Nitty Gritty vacuum record cleaning machine as some audiophiles have commented it removes a high-end edge from the recording.

The cover is beautifully intact, with a solid, sturdy spine, very slight corner scuffs, and a slight round pattern where the vinyl edges would have been during storage, though the cover remains black throughout (a rare feat for any black-cover album). The round pattern is a bit more pronounced on the original inner sleeve (due to the relative thinness and glossiness of the paper), as well as slight corner creases from storage... but has remained black.

In short, this is a RARE one (seemingly rarer than most the '70s Quebec prog collectables I search for)... Who knows when the next will appear online? Bid accordingly!
