RARE & POSSIBLY UNIQUE 1970 UK PROGRESSIVE ROCK LP by MARSUPILAMI which was FULLY AUTOGRAPHED BY ALL THE BAND MEMBERS IN THE 70's.

MARSUPILAMI who's main claim to fame is that they were the 1st band to play on stage at the very first Isle of Wight Festival!! (their name by the way is taken from a Belgian comic strip) were one of the more unusual and darker Prog Rock/Psych/Folk bands in the UK with their use of Doom laden Lyrics,Wild guitars,Hammond Organ,and even the odd Flute solo on this their debut LP issued on TRANSATLANTIC TRA 213.

This short lived band recorded another album in 1971 "ARENA" with the addition of another band member saxophonist Mandy Riedelbanch but sadly this proved to be their swansong.

The band members were

DAVE LAVERIC guitar,acoustic guitar,bowed guitar,vocals.

FRED HASSON vocals,harmonica,bongos.

LEARY HASSON organ.

RICHARD LATHAN HICKS bass.

MIKE FOURACRE percussion.

JESSICA STANLEY-CLARKE flute,vocals.

I've tried to take good clear photos of the original MacNeill Press textured cover and autographs, by the way you can probably see there are 7 autographs - don't know who the seventh is. As you can see the edges of the cover are a little rubbed,the worst bits being the spine and the bottom - also the bottom right hand corner is creased although it doesn't show through to much on the back cover.There is slight ring wear to the upper front cover and also the back (this is very slightly more worn).The opening edge is straight and NOT ripped or peeling back.Overall this a very presentable cover that is not torn or stained and has NO writing on it apart from those UNIQUE AUTOGRAPHS!!

CONDITION OF CENTRE LABELS & VINYL 1st PRESS RECORD

The White Transatlantic Centre Labels are in fabulous unmarked condition with no spindle wear and the Labels are bright and clean.The vinyl is in excellent shape and still has its original gloss and yes I have played it and there is only the odd light tick here and there except for the last track on side one which looks like it has an in line scratch which causes a little distortion noise for only a couple of seconds near the middle section (the record does not jump or skip).

THIS RECORD HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED WITH A PROFESSIONAL CLEANER

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT A VERY RARE LP TO BEGIN WITH - BUT WITH THE ADDITION OF THE AUTOGRAPHS!! THIS MUST BE THE ULTIMATE MARSUPILAMI LP TO ADD TO ANY PROG/PSYCH COLLECTION
