EXTREMELY RARE AND PROBABLY UNIQUE!! THE PIED PIPER SOUNDTRACK VINYL LP: DONOVAN: 1971/2. TRIDENT STUDIOS TEST PRESS/ARTIST PRESS. I have been in touch with Donovan's official website and they know of no other copies of this LP. Donovan's proposed soundtrack for the 1972 film The Pied Piper was never released..Is this the only copy? The album has 10 tracks but I only have titles for 4 of them. The (hand written) label on side A reads PIED PIPER REEL A-1 'LA MOORA' TO 'GOOD KING WENSESLAS' and the label on side two reads, 'PIED PIPER REEL A 2 'SAILING HOMEWARDS' TO 'THE LAND OF WINDY WONDER'. Side one starts with La Moora (different version to the one on HMS) and then has an orchestral track. The next, quite long track is two thirds orchestral and then has Donovan singing on the last third. The last 3 tracks are orchestral. Side 2 is all Donovan. It starts with Sailing Homeward and then there is a track I dont know the name of ..it could be something like No Joy for Me.. and has a fairly down lyric (but is wonderful). Track 3 is The Pied Piper and track 4 is an unaccompanied version of the Land of Windy Wonder. Sadly the first tracks on both sides are scratched and jump..particularly on La Moora. Maybe it could be repaired. The remainder of the record plays well and is in VG+ condition. The record has no cover and presumably never would have done. I bought the record from a man who made promo films for record companies in the late 60's early 70's.. to be shown on Ready Steady Go etc.. He told me that as far as he knew it was the only copy of this album....
