RARE! Uncle Dave Macon 78 RPM Record on VICTOR Label-I really believe this to be a rare record, it's the only one I ever saw by Uncle Dave on this label-actually, it is one record in a set along with other artists there is a set of 5 records for a total of 10 different sides-they are in the original album cover titled SMOKY MOUNTAIN BALLADS Edited by John Lomax-No 1 is "Riding On That New River Train" by Wade Mainer, Zeke Morris and Steve Ledford, number 27493 A and on the other side is the Monroe Brothers "Darling Corey" number 27493 B-next is "The East Virginia Blues" by the Carter Family, number 27494 A and "Cumberland Mountain Deer Race" by Uncle Dave Macon, number 27494 B, next is "Intoxicated Rat" by the Dixon Brothers, number 27495 A and "Chitlin' Cookin' Time In Cheatham County" by Arthur Smith Trio, number 27495 B-"On A Cold Winter Night" by J. E. Mainers Mountaineers, number 27496 A and "Ida Red" by Gid Tanner and His Skillet Lickers, number 27496 B and last "Worried Man Blues" by the Carter Family, number 27497 A and "Down In The Willow" by Wade Mainer and Zeke Morris-all 10 sides are in E to E- condition, there is a little surface flaking around the center holes that appear to have always been there and just a little bit of graining on the Uncle Dave side-the album is in solid condition with a bit of tear on the spline cover-US buyers pay $20.00 shipping and insurance-PayPal gladly accepted
