Description
THE BEATLES
ULTIMATE VINYL EXPERIENCE!!!
ATTENTION BEATLES FANS:
Up for auction is a FAB-ULOUS RARE original 2nd state pasteover mono edition of one of the most sought- after rock collectables of all-time:
The Beatles' controversial 1966 American album:
YESTERDAY AND TODAY
(Capitol Records T - 2556 MONO - black / colorband label)
This is a West Coast (Los Angeles) pressing and bears RIAA #6 on the rear cover.
Tracks include:
Drive My Car / I'm Only Sleeping / Nowhere Man / Dr. Robert / Yesterday / Act Naturally / And Your Bird Can Sing / We Can Work It Out / Day Tripper / What Goes On / If I Needed Someone
This is a "2nd state" pressing. The white "trunk photo" album slick was pasted over the offending "butcher-block" photo upon the album's 1966 release.
This original mono edition boasts an almost intact "trunk photo" pasteover with vibrant colors.
Two small corners have been slightly torn to reveal the purple / gray background of the butcher photo underneath.
In addition, you can see Ringo's black V-neck sweater through the trunk photo on the lower right side.
Spine is split on bottom corner about 3". Title and matrix number, however, are fully legible.
The back cover print is solid with some light aging and typical shelfwear on the otherwise WHITE background.
In addition, the original gold "CAPITOL '66" inner sleeve is also included along with a copy of the 1966 recall letter from Capitol records, explaining the substitute "trunk" cover.
Vinyl is in "VG" condition with some hairline scratches. Vinyl has been play-tested - no skips but some occasional surface noise.
The album, offered here "AS - IS" in this listing will increase in value over the years.
The previous owner made sure that this was in fact a pasteover cover.
"2nd state" butchers (with the pasteover intact) are becoming more and more rare to find due to peeling.
This fantastic album is suitable for framing and will make a notable addition to any vinyl or rock memorabilia collection!
ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE INQUIRE FOR ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AND INFO.
