Description

RARITY! WITCHES' BREW, RCA Living Stereo 1st pressing   Description This LP by Alexander Gibson conducting The New Symphony Orchestra of London, RCA Living Stereo #LSC-2225, is one of those rarely seen records with book value in the hundreds of dollars (according to the Canfield Guide to Classical Recordings).

This copy is very nice, though not mint. As you can probably discern in the photo, the VG+ jacket has light shelf wear with some chaffing on edges, and there are small seam splits, one of which is repaired, at the two right-hand corners. To our eyes, the vinyl looks almost new. We see no spindle trails on the labels, and there are some very slight marks visible in strong light, just here-and-there, on the vinyl. We think it likely that someone with very good equipment played this album a few times during its lifetime. We grade it VG++. And, if you care about the numbers in the trail-off area, this one is edition #1S, which is to say, the first (and possibly only) pressing. It's from 1958.

According to the notes on the album cover, "Throughout this album there is witchery a-brewing," whatever that may mean. In fact, there are 6 musical selections, at least some of which might fit that description:

  • Arnold: Overture to Tam O'Shanter.
  • Moussorgsky-Ravel: Gnomus from Pictures at an Exhibition.
  • Moussorgsky-Rimsky-Korsakoff: A Night on Bare Mountain.
  • Saint-Saens: Danse Macabre.
  • Humperdinck: Witches' Ride from Hansel and Gretel
  • Liszt: Mephisto Waltz

  Payment and Shipping Info

SHIPPING COSTS: The buyer in our auctions or store always is responsible for shipping costs. Most of our merchandise is "media" and qualifies for low-cost Media Mail in the US -- which can be slow but is economical.

For this item, the high bidder pays $3.35 for shipping and handling, to any US location, if the buyer chooses Media Mail. We recommend Priority Mail when speed or safety is paramount and we recommend Parcel Post or Priority Mail for merchandise that is not "media." Price varies for Priority Mail and for Parcel Post according to location, but typically these services are roughly double the Media Mail rate. Consult us for exact cost. The quoted shipping cost of every package we ship is the actual postage plus $1.28. This "handling" fee covers the average out-of-pocket cost of shipping materials -- boxes, bubble wrap, etc.

  • POSTAL INSURANCE: Insurance is optional and must be requested by and paid for by the buyer. Insurance costs whatever USPS is charging for it, which depends upon the value of the shipment. If you want insurance, just tell us so in advance of payment. Because postal risks are low, and postal insurance rates are high, we don't require insurance or even recommend it except on costly items.
  • INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS: INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS MUST CONTACT US PRIOR TO SENDING PAYMENT TO DETERMINE EXACT SHIPPING COSTS. Tell us whether you want airmail (usually one week) or surface mail (usually 5-7 weeks, but roughly half the price of airmail). Insurance is optional. WE FILL OUT CUSTOMS FORMS HONESTLY; please do not ask us to enter false information about the nature or value of your merchandise.
  • COMBINING SHIPMENTS: We love to save you money on postage! Get several items and ship them in one package. You can instruct us to hold onto merchandise until you accumulate a larger package through later purchases. Or, if you buy a "lot" but only want some of the items, tell us which items to withdraw from the lot and your postal costs will drop (though you still must pay the price for the lot).

eBay's most successful sellers use Marketworks sales management services

On May-04-06 at 03:29:04 PDT, seller added the following information:

e © AP6.0      Summary of My Selling Policies Payment We accept PayPal, BidPay, money orders, personal checks, or cash in the mail. We do not accept credit cards directly -- only through PayPal or BidPay.

Please do us the courtesy of paying within 10 days. Fees Each package we ship costs the actual postage plus $1.10. This is the average cost of tape, bubble wrap, boxes and other materials we use in order to assure successful shipment. Perhaps you can re-use these materials but our primary purpose is to get your merchandise to you in the same condition it leaves here.

We collect no sales taxes at this time. Shipping We ship anywhere you say. In the US, we usually ship by Media Mail because it's economical, and we quote Media Mail in all relevant auction listings. We gladly will ship by Parcel Post, Priority Mail, or Express Mail in the US; just let us know after the auction and we'll gladly calculate the rates for you.

International shipments may be airmail or surface mail. Surface mail is often very slow, so for speed and safety reasons, we recommend airmail. Either way, let us know your preferences at the end of the auction and we'll calculate the rate.

Want to save on shipping? Buy more than one item and ship your winnings in one package.

Don't see any more auctions that interest you? We try to do at least 50 new ones each week, so you can wait a week or two if you wish, in order to shop more items. Also, check our "About Me" page on eBay for another option. Delivery We ship several days each week, usually within 2 days of payment, and often the same day. Refunds & Returns We sometimes give refunds; sometimes we give credit; sometimes we make other arrangements, depending upon the nature of the problem.

The first thing to do, always, when there's a problem, is to contact us. Don't get mad; don't ship anything back; just get in touch. We strive to achieve 100% buyer satisfaction. Contact Me The fastest way to contact us is by e-mail, which we check several times per day. Rarely does e-mail wait more than a day or two.

We're always open for business, of course, since business is done electronically. We have no bricks-and-mortar site. We exhibit only at one live site: the International Record Show at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in July. BID WITH CONFIDENCE
