Description
This is an auction for a rare LP- Ravel, Mother Goose Suite, Debussy, Nocturnes, Ansermet, L'Orchestra De La Suisse Romande.
This was released by Decca Records in 1960 and has catalogue number SXL 2062. This is the first press with a black label and silver lettering. a deep circular groove runs around the label. The words 'Original Recording By The Decca Co Ltd' are printed around the top half of the label. The Decca logo, also in silver, is printed in large letters. There is also a circular logo with FFSS printed above the words 'Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound' which is written across a 1cm silver band which runs across the width of the label.
This label is some times referred to as 'EDI' English Decca 1st label or as WBg, Wide Band grooved.
The following is all pictured on supersize for carification on condition.
Condition: The sleeve has some buffing to the very corners and mouth, some small lamination creases with a slight impression of the record showing through the sleeve. The rear top flipback edge has a small piece missing. lastly there is some faint discolour marks some of which may clean of the front laminated surface. Spine & Edges Ex, Lamination at mouth Ex. This sleeve is graded at VG. Pictured on SS.
This comes with its original polythene inner sleevet.
Both labels are almost perfect and brand new, Under very close examination a few tiny spider spnidle trails can be seen on each side. This looks as though its been played no more than a handful of times. The centre hole is fine and shows little sign of wear. Pictured on SS.
The vinyl on both sides retains its brand new rainbow shine. Under very close examination a couple of minuscule feather scratches can be seen ( being ultra picky ). These are of course non-audible and as stated only seen under the strongest light. This looks and plays as brand new. The vinyl for this is graded at a conservative Near Mint.
Superb vinyl.
