Man, this sure is a far cry from their earlier beat pop stuff, like Dear Mrs. Applebee!  Bad, Bad World is heavy s***, man, a snarling feral heavy psych rock beast of a record.  No matter it’s the work of what’s essentially the German equivalent of the Electric Firebirds, just take a listen to the awesome Steppenwolf clone “What You Can Do For Your Country,” with what appears to be a spoken word monologue from Ringo Starr (it’s not, but it sure sounds like him). Or the shameless Kinks ripoff “We’ve Got Too Much,” which sounds like “You Really Got Me” played in an empty airplane hangar.  There are two groovy Hammond instrumentals called “Relaction I” and “Relaction II,” and that’s not even a word.  Their version of “Hey Joe” stretched over 5 minutes and reduces the song to only one line – “Hey Joe, where you goin’ with your gun?” – repeated over and over.  “Behave Us Of the Third World War,” which, as a sentence, doesn’t even make sense, is the single best “Magic Carpet Ride” ripoff you’ll ever hear in your life.  Word has it that Bad Bad World is the work of Hamburg’s Tonics, who recorded as the Spots, the Movers and the Shotguns too.  Sounds like they discovered good old fashioned American acid rock on this one.
