Kid Jensen Introduces Sounds Progressive
(Eyemark EMCL 1009) 1970
Swiftly recorded in the spring of 1970, this rare album consists of cover versions of recent rock hits performed by an anonymous band supposedly named 'Sounds Progressive'. It has recently been revealed that the band in question was in fact Raw Material, who did the session for cash shortly before making their debut album proper. Armed with that knowledge, fans of their other recordings will easily recognise their tight, funky style, with highlights including belting renditions of Who Do You Love (Juicy Lucy), I'm A Man (Chicago) and Let's Work Together (Canned Heat), all with taut drumming and searing, distorted guitar leads. This is easily as rare as the albums they made on Evolution and RCA Neon.
SLEEVE CONDITION: The fully laminated sleeve in in EX shape, with some light creasing and laminate lift by the spine (which is fully legible). There are no splits, tears, writing etc.
DISC CONDITION: The disc is in beautiful EX to NM shape, just about unplayed. It comes in its original inner sleeve.
