When the Twist hit the fans, circa Chubby Checker-mania of 1961/62, Atlantic records decided to reopen the box of old Ray Charles'  R&B session tapes (by then, he'd signed up for ABC-Paramount and was no longer the Atlantic recording artist) and - you guessed it - market his old,  bouncy R&B and Jump Blues material as…gasp!…TWIST! What a twisted notion!! But then, many a black artist was robbed of their royalty in this fashion. On the upside, though:  this is a very young Brother Ray at his bounciest, raunchiest, sexiest R&B mood ever. Track listing: Tell me how do you feel - I got a woman - Heartbreaker - Tell the truth - What'd I say - Talkin' about you - You be my baby - Leave my woman alone - I'm movin' on. Finding a still sealed original MONO copy?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see.

(a)          THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID).

(b)          The record is believed to come in its original stock inner sleeve.

(c)           The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more  preferable to its stereo counterpart. We think that the mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and that the mixes are somewhat different than on the stereo version. We estimate that stereo copies of this album outnumber mono pressings by a ratio of at least 5:1.

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

COVER IS (WEAK) NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP  (A SMALL PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Back cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record),  probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1 (front side) and 2 (back side)

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on back side, apparently from aging.

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the bottom seam (nothing significant)

-         Cover has one corner slightly worn (nothing significant)

-         Tiny brownish stain noted on the spine (less than 1/16th square inch in size)  (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No writing

-        No stamps (the small stamp you see on the back appears on the shrink wrap, NOT the cover itself)

-        No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-        No peel-off marks

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
