Festival L 19006 Mono 1988 Australia   The Festival File Volume Six
CONDITION:  Both sleeve and disk are near mint Ray Hoff, who died in March 2010, was an under-appreciated pioneer of Australian rock'n'roll. Unlike contemporaries such as Johnny O'Keefe and Col Joye, he did not adopt a wide repetoire to appeal to a broader audience, preferring to concentrate on a repetoire based on black American R'n'B performers like Bo Diddley and Jimmy Reed - virtually inknown in Australia at the time. As result he did not record until 1965, when he released a classic single, his cover of Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie" (backed with his version of Reed's "Baby What You Want Me To do"). TRACKS:
