Description
MGM Records (K55007) 1955 promo 45 rpm single release from RAY REID. Tracks are: MOVE IT ON OVER / I'LL TAKE THE BLAME.
MGM was experiencing pop success and with HANK WILLIAMS, they had numerous C&W hits. Their R&B market was limited so in 1955 launched their 55000 Series headed by LEROY KIRKLAND to try and make greaters inroads. It lasted less than two years with no hits but some great sides. This is one of the tough 45 sides from the series. No surprise that it's a jump blues cover of a HANK WILLIAMS tune.
VG+ condition with a lot of lustre. Nice player with some light sleeve scuffs and a few ultra-light micro-scratches. WOL - both sides. The sound files are from the offered 45 tracked at two grams. Buyer pays $3.50 First Class shipping in the US. USPS International Airmail is $12.75.
