RAYMOND SCOTT ambient electronic baby music v.2 NM WLP! Shipping Info  |  S/H info:   Description here's a beautiful original pressing for fans complete with original booklet/insert and a mega-rare white label pressing to boot! three long tracks: the 17+ min. "toy typewriter" and the amazing(!!) "tempo block" and "happy whistler". this is one in a series of three LPs released by EPIC and the gesell institute of child development back in the mid 60's. i have two listed today (vol. 3 is notoriously hard to find). to my ears, these are the greatest of all the experimental self-help, medicinal, etc albums from that era. scott steered clear from the soft classical strings approach and opted for hypnotic ambient electronic sound loops which predate brian eno by half a decade and and are shockingly stimulating and sophisticated (many would add "sinister" to that list). "soothing sounds for a baby" gained legendary status during the strange music era, was later reissued by the great basta label and is the best r. scott music committed to vinyl IMHO. fantastic collection this week of vintage strange, obscure & esoteric LPs, maybe the best list i've ever put together. i've spent the past year or so ferreting away doubles of my all-time favorite albums and have added in some curiosities from my own collection. these should appeal to everyone from the avant garde crowd to the psych heads and (obviously) all you exotica freaks. everything listed today comes very highly recommended. no hype here, people!
