For auction is a 2 LP set of the the Royal Ballet, Gala Performances, with Ernest Ansermet conducting music from Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Sylphides, Giselle, Coppelia, Boutique Fantasque, and Carnaval.  This album is an authorized  Classic Records reissue of the famous original RCA LDS 6065.   This set is in excellent condition.  The cover is near mint, sowing minor storage wear on the top and back.  The booklet is mint.  Most importantly, the albums themselves are near mint or better, with original sleeves.  This set is a reissue of one most famous and valuable records ever made.  An original LDS 6065 can sell for upwards of $1200.  This quality reissue was made by Classic Records in the mid-1990s.   Again, this is a near mint copy of the Classic Recores reissue LDS 6065, not the original.

The performance and sonics of this album are spectacular.  It is my understanding that Classic Records did two reissues of this album, one in 180 gram vinyl and another in 200 gram vinyl.  I believe this set is the 180 gram vinyl, if it makes a difference to you.

This album comes from the collection of an elderly audiophile in my family.  This album has been in storage for the last 15 years and was played on a Linn Sondek LP12 before that.   The owner of this album took meticulous care of all his albums and that is reflected in the condition of this album.  The collection from which I am selling this album is over 1300 albums and I have sold roughly 600 to date (to private parties, no via ebay) , without a single complaint.  Indeed, the purchasers of this collection has thus far been delighted with these albums.  I rate albums conservatively and do not remotely exaggerate their condition.

I have played this album on my Rega turntable and it is sonically flawless.  I am very conservative in my ratings of albums and do not sell any albums with any marks, flaws, scratches, or issues on the actual LP.  I am a fellow music lover, not a professional record seller, and I am selling these albums simply because I either own multiple copies or don't have a passion for this particular piece of music.

Shipping in the US is via US Media Mail.   Shipping to other countries is the actual cost of shipping along with a $1 fee to cover the cost of the shipping carton and packing supplies.  I absorb the cost of insurance on any album or set over $50. 

Payment is via Paypal only.  I expect payment within 12 hours of the completion of an auction and will offer items to secondary bidders if payment is not received within 24 hours.  I use Paypal because it speeds transactions and allows me to ship quickly.
